In response to my query (if you want to catch up, read this post) I received a call from a very nice lady called Lisa. She informed me that the lead was not an e-commerce project initially.

I explained how the entire lead to agency process could be made a touch easier to work with. At the moment, when a lead comes in, regardless of whether it is suitable or not, you are deducted the fee for that lead. The Web development spectrum covers a whole range of tasks and expecting companies to want to pay for leads to projects where they do not have the skills in-house and don’t have the facility to outsource is unfair. A better solution would be to charge more per lead if you want the facility to pre-approve leads. Once approved, you are sent the clients contact details.

It’s under discussion.
