Buckcherry, Best live band on the planet?

March 26th, 2007 | Posted in Music

It has been several days now since seeing Buckcherry live and my opinion of them remains the same.. they are by far the best live band I have ever seen.

Trust me, this is no exaggeration. The classic rock swagger and full on energy and enthusiasm makes you think that this was the first time they had played live despite being mid-tour.

They seemed to fill the gap that the likes of Guns and Roses and Aerosmith have left behind. I say Aerosmith as for me they stopped being the Aerosmith i liked since the album PUMP. The lead singer (Josh Todd) has all the qualities you would want from a front man coming straight from the Joe Tyler and Axel Rose style of showmanship. For me he stole the show. A lot would argue against this but I need to see a lead singer take command and lead from the front which Josh does with great ease.

Like any great rock band, a front man always has his Joe Perry or Slash. Stevie D lived up to the task, he managed to strike a balance between being a lead guitarist and not competing with Josh through lengthy drawn out guitar solo’s.

Mainstream success is only a step away. What will be required is a watered down, radio and TV friendly approach similar to what Aerosmith have achieved. Lets hope that never happens. :)

On to the videos, I did record some video BUT the sound quality was extremely poor :( . FAR too much distortion, teach me to leave the mic open at a rock concert. Anyway, here they are… you have been warned.

Again, I apologise for the sound… you will not believe how gutted I was having heard them back. :(
