Diwali and the Hindu New Year - celebrated in Leicester, in a big way!

Having missed walking along Belgrave Road 2 weeks ago to watch the lights being turned on, we decided we would go at Diwali this year. 

Walking to Belgrave Road brought back memories of going with my friends when we were teenagers (something we did every year without fail).  Rain, extreme cold and fog couldn't dampen our spirits.  Luckily this year, it didn't rain, although waiting for the fireworks did numb my fingers and toes. 

It turned out to be an nice evening out, with the chance to meet people I hadn't seen in a long time and to bump into lots of strangers whilst trying to walk through the crowds.
